Toolangi Day trip

SHANE 75 SERIES

We all met at Brads at 7.30am with Stuart
and Natalie running late as usual.
We headed to
Toolangi via Pakenham McDonalds. After taking
a Shane detour we arrived at the Rocky Track
with Phil attempting the tract first. Not making it
up he decided to reverse back down to let some
pressure out of his tyres. While Phil was letting
his tyres down Shane decided to give it a go
with no luck. Brad then had his turn and made it
up, this was followed by Phil who made it
without his beloved Diff Locks. Stuart and Shane
opted for the easy track.
After all meeting at the top we drove onto the
Steps.
Shane left his car at the top of the track
and hoped in the 80 series with Brad, Nicky and
Travis. Brad and Shane opted for the left hand
track and on second attempt made it bad luck
for Nicky who then had to walk carrying Travis.
Stuart attempted to cross the ruts and ended up
side ways in them, the look on Natalie's face
said it all. He then took 1 1/2 hours to winch up to
the top after accidentally reversing instead of
driving.
Phil made it to the top with minimal
winching, pleasing Nicky and Natalie as by this
stage, they were both starving.
After having lunch and collecting Shane's car
we decided to go and play in some mud, even
Natalie and Nicky had a drive.
After heading
down the track for quite some time and having
quite a few tyres of the rims we decided to head
back the way we came as it was getting dark
and Shane was supposed to be at a conference,
thanks to us he had now missed his dinner.
We
stopped at Healesville to do tyre repairs and
after looking forward to a pub meal we looked at
how muddy we were and opted for crappy fish
and chips. We all headed home with Shane
heading off to his conference just a few hours
late.
A good day had by all.
