Pajero Challenge Checkpoint Report
PAJERO CHALLENGE CHECKPOINT 2.2
The Jones clan packed up and headed to meet with Wendy, Jake & Molly at their house before heading off to meet Norm further along our route.
Our campsite was at The Old Dindi Mill Site which was a very pleasant place to camp with enough room for the kids to play. We arrived by lunchtime, set up our camp and got our checkpoint organised. Al, who had some missions to take care of on the way, arrived shortly after.
Teams started to roll in during the afternoon and were greeted by the check in nurses, Kate & Wendy who directed them to the waiting room where “beat-up” Al was waiting to see Dr. Norm. Teams waited before they were seen by the doctor where they had to perform a quick medical test before leaving, but not before being greeted by the nurses and officially checking out.
Whilst all this was going on I was, with the help of the kids, organising a fire so that dinner could be cooked as we were having a roast. The last team arrived a little after dark so we all gathered around and enjoyed a great meal, some interesting conversations, a few ales and a roaring fire.
It was a slowish start to Sunday and by lunchtime we were all on the road heading home. A great relaxing weekend was had by all that attended, topped off by us winning the “Best Checkpoint” award on behalf of the club.
Cheers
