Kieran's Larby Drive

Amanda & I...........Chev/GQ                           Robin & Shelly.......62 Series
Fin & Trev..............Hilux                                We all had some kids with us

Travelling through the back of Tarago State Forest we found an entire area has now been permanently closed to all except Bushwalkers and Horse riders.

Our actual drive was lots of fun and the rain was welcome.  We drove a bunch of unnamed tracks out the back of Tarago then worked our way around to Rocky, Robertson’s and Bullock link in that order.

We met Robin at the Forest Rd picnic area and had an early lunch after which we did Gentle Annie, Sisters, Phasmid, Phasmid Ridge and maybe Dawson’s but we're unsure what track it really was.

All tracks were great fun in the wet and all the cars performed well with no problems except for when Robin tried to drive a quite steep part of Dawson's.  His car stalled and he slid back onto a erosion control mound.  If he was a member I'd fine him as he was still in Hi range.

After this we found the next steep part to be too much for Robin's no winch and 33's 62 series, so we turned him around in a washout and I followed him back down while Fin kept going.  The plan was we would meet at the bottom of Stolls.

80 minutes later we were getting worried about Fin as he was still a no show.  We couldn't get him on the phone or radio and decided to leave a note on a flag and moved to Forest Rd picnic area where we had reception.

Once there we got him on the phone, he had come out in a different area after a long struggle and had used nearly all of his diesel as he'd had his throttle wide open for 40 minutes and had needed 2 cables to get up and over the track.

After that it was off home.  Honourable mentions go to Sisters and Dick Hill/Walker’s entry with both being slippery, but the rocks in the mud at the entry of Dick Hill/Walkers made for a great climb from one side of the track to the other to get up in sloshy 2ft mud.............MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm.

Finally it must be said, GQ's rule, even in it's relatively stock state, Amanda's new car ATE everything the tracks could throw at us, and we loved it.
